Haazinu:
  Haazinu
is an organization whose existence is predicated on providing every
possible means of assistance to hearing-impaired youngsters. From
a fledgling organization catering to a handful of children fourteen
years ago, Haazinu now caters to the needs of well over 300 hearing-impaired
children throughout the world. From the moment of diagnosis of and
on through high school and college years, Haazinu is there with
a variety of services to help youngsters and their parents navigate
the way to success.
Haazinu
provides the answers to the questions parents of hearing-impaired
children frequently ask. More importantly, Haazinu provides the
services that will fill each individual hearing-impaired child’s
unique need. When should therapy start? Is a cochlear implant feasible?
What type of hearing aids would be best? How can I register my child
in the school of my choice? Which therapist should I contact? Who
will speak for my child to the teacher and principal? How can I
contact parents who are in similar circumstances? Where can I find
out about the latest technological developments in the field? How
can I ensure that my child will be mainstreamed? Parent support,
counseling, public education, research into cutting edge technology,
broad-based information, mainstreaming into regular school systems,
needed supplementary devices to maximize hearing, tutoring, and
mentoring services are just a few of the extensive programs available
to the hearing-impaired child and his parents through the good offices
of Haazinu.
